Opportunity
Old Town Spice and Tea Merchants offers a robust selection of over 350 spices & blends and more than 100 loose-leaf teas, as well as unique gift and specialty items.
We previously worked with OTSTM to develop their first e-commerce website. Though the previous Magento website had been neglected and fell into disarray.
After discovering that they had been hacked, OTSTM reached out to 38West once more for a website redesign.
Challenge
The biggest challenge was extracting the page and product information from the previous Magento website.
Not knowing what was still under the control of prying eyes, 38West would need to take the information and images from the site, research and develop a new, updated website that would stay secured for much longer this time.
Solution
38West researched the current situation and developed a plan to build OTSTM into a Shopify site. We felt this would alleviate the issues from security, to checkout, to the administrative backend.
By developing the new website within Shopify, OTSTM has seen an increase in user engagement and sales, while costs have decreased. Purchase processing and shipping administration has become tremendously easier. They’re very happy and we’re very proud.
